Geographical Description
OCEAN COUNTY IS LOCATED within about 50 miles of two of the Nation's largest metropolitan centers: New York City and Philadelphia. Atlantic City is located about 50 miles south of the County seat. Food Distribution
WOPM collaborates with other feeding agencies including the Food bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and community donations. WOPM provides emergency food assistance for people in need. This service provides much needed assistance in the city of Lakewood, where homelessness and poverty are concentrated.

Kids First
Kids First Outreach is designed to meet the emergency needs of children whose parents are challenged by life threatening behavior and conditions including homelessness, substance abuse, incarceration, unemployment, and the working poor. Annual outreach initiatives include:

Easter Baskets
In partnership with United Way, WOPM co-sponsors and hosts an annual Easter party where children receive Easter baskets donated by the United Way.

Summer Camp
Children are given the opportunity to attend camp allowing them to be children for while. With other children they enjoy, discover, learn, and experience a time that is missing at home.

Back to School
Back to School provides children with book bags and school supplies.

Operation Christmas Wish
Annual Christmas party hosted by WOPM to provide children ages 0 to 16 with Christmas gifts donated by the community.

Women Impacting Women
WOPM assists clients in destitute situations resulting from domestic violence, substance abuse, ex-felons, women coming out of a foster care home, and women from single parent households who are unable to make ends meet. WOPM provides them with emergency food assistance and works with clients to address long-term needs. WOPM provides counseling and helps in contacting referral services that can assist them. These services include women‘s shelters, employment services, vocational training opportunities, and child care services.

To help build self confidence and empower women to become independent and self sufficient, WOPM holds Workshops teaching them the necessary life skills and providing them with free beauty treatments.
